About Us

The Toasty Candle Co. was started because I was frequently disappointed every time I went in search of a new candle for my home. The fragrance was good when the candle wasn’t lit, then I would take it home and there was minimal scent. The candle container had tons of black soot around the jar (container candle) which only came off with scrubbing viciously. Then halfway through burning the wick (talking about lead wicks here, very dangerous to breath in, Toxic too!) I would end up throwing the candle away. If I bought a pillar candle the wax would melt o.k. on the inside but then when it went down a little bit the sides would cave in and the wick would be stuck in the hardened wax so that next time I went to attempt to light it I would have to use a knife to dig the wick out. I usually only bought candles on sale, since I refuse to spend the money on big jar candles, or large pillars at the name brand mall stores that never receive full use. Because of the black soot around the outer rim of the glass I could rarely scrub enough of it off to ever reuse the glass again. I felt guilty that I was not only contaminating the air in my home because of the carbons from lead wicks and cheap wax, but I was not doing the ozone any favors either. The cost of making candles is not as cheap as I once thought, but when you put a great deal of thought into your product, searching for Soy, fragrances, and containers the expense to make a quality product is well worth it. I made Toasty Candles for friends and family with praise on how great and aromatic my candles were but what I boasted to them was true! Now I want to share that with others. We think you’ll be really pleased with our products. My “nasally sensitive” family members never complain about the scent or throat irritation from them. Our home base is Apex, North Carolina where fine Soy bean plants are grown and harvested.

Toasty Candles are always hand poured which means that no machinery is making a big batch of Soy wax and mechanically dumping it into the average jar. They are made exclusively by hand with LOVE. Why? because I always want to be proud of the product I’m making.

Each candle will always be unique in fragrance. We typically only use small glass jars or tins because “great scents come in small packages”, I usually like to move my candles around the house so the smaller they are, the more portable they are.

The Toasty Candle Company will strive to only use organic materials. Not just the Soy, but fragrances, containers, packaging, and shipping materials. We are committed to being environmentally friendly.

All of our wicks are lead free. The glass jars and tins re-usable. The fragrances organic. We do our best to not use paper by using electronic transmission for administrative obligations.
Shipping “peanuts” are cornstarch that’s water-soluble, 100% recycled.
Boxes are made from post-consumer products. We reuse all boxes that we receive our products in. We request you do the same.
