Candle Safety
Toasty burning Tips and Safety:

Only burn candles within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Put them out when you leave the room or house.

Never burn candles on or near ANYTHING that can catch fire! paper, carpets, curtains, bedding, furniture etc Get the point?

Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Do not place candles where they could be knocked over.

Read and follow the directions and warnings from the manufacturer.

Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before you light the candle with first use and every time thereafter.

Burn candles away from drafts that can cause them to burn unevenly, drip and smoke.

Do not BLOW the candles out as this can cause wax to spray and affect the wick. “Snuffing” out a wick is best (candle snuffer)

MORE Tips (applies to regular and Soy wax candles)

To avoid glass container from shattering do not used if chipped or cracked. Never burn candle to bottom.

Allow candle to cool before replacing lid on jar.

To keep soot down trim your wick to 1/4 inch before burning, even Soy will emit some soot if wick too long.

Burn candles 1 hour for each inch in diameter. This allows the flame to melt the wax to the outer edge. Burning for less time will cause the wick to only burn in the middle and shorten its life. Example a 3” wide candle should be burned for 3 hrs at a time.

Use toenail clippers to snip the wick if jar opening to small.

Do not keep in direct sunlight as candle color will fade.
Simple Solutions

Placing pillar or taper candles in your refrigerator before using will allow them to burn slower. Place foil or plastic around the wick to prevent it from absorbing moisture.

Crooked burning~ If wick moves off center, use a butter knife to push it back to center. If in a drafty area turn candle around for even wax melting.

Should soot build up container, clean with a paper towel and windex. Allow jar to dry before lighting.

Clean soiled or scratched candles with old nylons or use a small dab of salad oil on a soft cloth.

Remove wax from containers by running hot water over them. For Soy simply use warm water and dish soap.

Toasty Tip: Use a candle warmer to get the last drop of wax and fragrance out of your candles. Then you can wipe out with a paper towel, then wash with soap and water to reuse your jar.

Testimonials

“ I loved the unique smell of my candles, I can’t believe how fragrant it was. Just one of the 5 ounce jars lasted for hours. I will never burn a regular candle again, I now know about the health risks of paraffin, and as a mother I feel much better about keeping the environment cleaner with using Soy candles. Not only that I feel I have donated not only to the environment, but my purchases at Toasty are going to a good cause. Thanks, Michelle O~ Royal Palm Beach, FLA

“I know there are a lot of candles sold on the internet, but I was happy to see all of the information provided on the Toasty website, it was nice to see that my purchase was not going to just profit, but to help a child somewhere! I was happy with the shipping process too. I will certainly be ordering my candles from Toasty from now on”...Kelly M.~Armonk, NY

“Hi there! Thanks for the recycling tips from your website. I use all my used jars for other things once the candle is done burning. With paraffin candles I always had to throw out the jar it came in, now I simply wash out my containers with warm, soapy water and reuse them, and they are really pretty. I love all the Toasty fragrances, I can’t find them anywhere else!”...Missy P. Holly Springs, NC

“Just wanted to let you know that you were not fooling anyone when you said that my allergies wouldn’t be bothered by the fragrance or the wax when lit. Even my husband did not sniffle once and he actually enjoyed the ‘all warm’n toasty’ scent that I ordered. I am so happy that I can now burn candles again. Thank you so much, Susan K. Raleigh, NC

“Hi Toasty Girl...Your candles have been my number one seller this year in my shop. Everyone says the best are the aromatherapy Spa, and your kitchen fragrances......Vanilla Hazelnut.....AWESOME”
