There are some Essential things you need to know as a proud Toasty candle owner. Not only do our candles have great fragrances and provide you with a quality product but we want to send out positive messages of love, support, and the importance of self-growth. Everyone needs to have some encouragement, positive motivation, and support in our lives. We have have been self-growth learners all our lives and it pleases me to help others. Not only with a quality candle that has been hand made for you, but with each signature candle scent comes a positive message, a word or love, or a word of encouragement. They are perfect for all of your gift needs and especially when you want to give someone something really special but are having a hard time finding the right gift and the right card to go with it. The candle and its positive message will make a world of difference to someone, possibly more than you know or will ever realize. Each candle is just a precious as the person you are buying it for, even if it is for yourself. You will be so glad you gave the gift of a Toasty Candle and feel good and empowered as the person receiving it.

We can place special messages on each candle at your request, but if you don’t mind we’ll make the choice for you. Each scent represents a different area of self-growth such as setting goals, love, motivation, support, and success. You can choose the area of self-growth that you would like your message to come from; such as Love, or inspiration.

We also have Christian messages for you for those who want to spread the message of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to be the Light of the World and to us candles represent that light and the love we are to share.

Toasty Candle Company is dedicated to helping single parents, and other organizations that help single parents by giving 10% of our proceeds to them. We believe in giving back in service to others and God. We are very grateful to be able to participate financially to others in need. Single Parenting is one of the most difficult jobs, we at Toasty have experience in this area. As a single parent of 5 boys for a time there was many things I needed to provide for my kids that child support just didn’t cover and by government standards “you make to much money” to qualify for other assistance and services. There are extra costs in providing for your kids that enrich their lives with art, music, sports, and Green living programs. Often times money is already stretched to far to allow for those expenses for a single parent when the cost of living is the priority; especially in this day and age. Let’s all stretch out are hands by helping one another raise our future presidents, elected officials, teachers, doctors, and nurses, and role models by teaching them what service to others is all about. Otherwise, how will they know?

Candle warmers are great for melting that last little bit of wax that just won't burn. Just place your candle container on the candle warmer and when its melted pour out wax and wash your container with warm, soapy water

Toasty does provide its customers with a "design your own". The possibilities are unlimited! Make a special candle for party favors, wedding favors, shower favors, or when you need that particular candle for home decor. You can choose a jar type, fragrance that is not listed in our fragrance list (see store), or Soy wax color. Health and Wellness

It only makes "great scents" to use Toasty Soy products for health and wellness promotion. Toasty candles are Phthalate Free and carbon-neutral which means that there are no harmful chemicals or additives that when burning are bad to breath in, or come in skin contact with. Not only that, but you receive health and wellness tips with your candles that promote spiritual well-being. Our sister company provides health and wellness coaching to help you set personal goals, reach those goals, and actually keep those goals. About Soy

Soy Burns 3 times longer than regular petroleum based waxes (if you burn them no longer than 3 hours at a time). Releases minute amount of soot, but nothing toxic compared to wax (paraffin). It is less likely to cause allergies or respiratory irritations making it child and animal friendly. If you know your allergic to Soy products you may want to research Soy based candles before you purchase one.

Soy burns slower and cooler enabling the fragrance to distribute better. You could actually use the melted soy as hand lotion when the flame is out, but Toasty does not recommend it. The melted soy’s temp is usually around 90 degrees. Soy’s appearance is a whitish, opaque color, but burns clear liquid and when color is added makes a beautiful transparent liquid that shimmers, and adds tons of diffused light out the sides of the container, even tea lights enhance a rooms decor.

Soy cleans up with soap and water so any containers your candles come in can be recycled throughout your home for other uses. For instance glass jars can be used for drinking glasses, or storing small items such as paper clips, hair pins, cotton balls etc, tins can be reused for similar items. Soy can easily be removed from carpets and furniture should you spills some.

Soy is made from a Soybean plant by-product (Vegetable fat) making them environmentally friendly. Soybeans are American grown so you are supporting the American economy instead of foreign oil companies when you purchase one.

Soy is also used in many lotions, and hand cream’s because of its ability to create a natural, breathable barrier for your skin. It keeps your skin well hydrated and prevents water loss.

Soy is home-grown in the USA so prices can vary due to the crops. A majority of Soy is grown right here in North Carolina. The cost you may have when purchasing a Soy candle is well worth it. Especially because of your health, and you are not contributing to Global Warming.

Because Soy is a renewable resource, wax color and appearance may vary. When fragrance and color are added it may form crystals within and frosted top. Shipping temperatures also affect the finished product but in NO WAY affect your candles performance.

A quick note about fragrance. Not all fragrances are suitable for Soy, what that means is that you can put any desired fragrance in Soy but because of the composition of the essential oils in the fragrances, they may not mix well, leading to a candle that doesn’t smell as strong as another fragrance. Remember, this is a natural resource and it has a mind of its own, unlike paraffin that is synthetic. Additives can be used to enhance the fragrance, but we would rather not add anything else to your candle, therefore, keeping a truly “green” product. We have tested numerous fragrances and have chosen some of the strongest smelling and compatible with Soy.

Use a Candle Warmer to use up the last 1/4” up of wax. This way your releasing the fragrance out of the wax long after you can no longer light the wick. Candle warmers are a great way to enjoy Toasty candles in areas you can not burn a candle but you definitely need fragrance. It also makes for easy wax removal. Just melt the wax, wipe with a paper towel, and wash with soap and water to remove residue. Then you can reuse your container.

Soy Candle storage info

Did you know? that Soy is sensitive to extreme temperatures especially cold. It can shrink and even crack, but its very forgiving and will “heal” itself when warmed up. The cold can also cause Soy to crystallize which is not a bad thing. Some Soy professionals actually look for crystallization within the Soy to determine if additives were used upon making to enhance appearance, if there are absolutely no crystals there may be something else added and your Soy is not really natural anymore. Additives in Soy depend upon the maker, some additives are just as natural as the Soy and will not harm you. Too perfect of an appearance can mean that a Soy candle was mixed with another petroleum based wax and again you no longer have a candle that is eco-friendly.

To protect against fading and melting do not place them in direct sunlight. Store in a clean, dry place. Clean candles with a dry or damp cloth. You can even freeze them to preserve them longer.

Paraffin based Candles

Paraffin candles are made from Petroleum by-products that are very respiratory irritating causing allergies, throat irritation, and are very toxic not only to you, but the environment. When Paraffin is lit it releases Carbon into the air in the form of black soot. This soot is what is so disturbing because of the degree of contamination it causes the atmosphere, the amount of toxins that you can inhale (not good for people with known allergies, animals, and children). The fumes that result from paraffin candles is similar to breathing in the fumes of a diesel truck, they are the same components. And if thats not enough, you can’t remove the wax completely from the container it came in leaving you to throw it out (another “Eco” No-No!).

Paraffin burns at high temps depending on the additives needed to make it harden, take shape like pillars and votives. The wax when burning can cause serious burns to the skin and eyes, and caution must be taken not to spill on carpets and furniture because you will never completely remove it, (I have used every sharp item myself, its like crayon).

Paraffin can be made into relatively cheap candles but the price you really pay is just not worth it. The wicks used in paraffin could contain lead if its been made outside the USA. And the scent may also be harmful to your health.

About Aromatherapy

When your feeling stressed, you find yourself losing your patience, and nothing seems to be going your way that’s your cue to light a great fragrant Toasty candle. All of our candles are scented with Aromatherapy in mind. The deal with aromatherapy is it is believed that certain organic fragrances can actually change your mood and your mind. The intention of Aromatherapy is to reduce tension, stress, and pain. Be it physical or spiritual discomfort. Candles are just one of the many treatments in the practice of Aromatherapy. You can also place drops of your favorite stress buster on certain “trigger” points on your body, or burn them in a diffuser, and use stones (consult a professional who is certified in the practice of Aromatherapy just to be safe). The great thing about it is that you don’t need to spend money for electricity, or harm the air you breath. Different scents stimulate different mood changes. For instance Lavender is for stress reduction, creating a calm ambiance. You should really investigate Aromatherapy and its many benefits to your life its well worth your time. Candles in General

Lighted candles should never be left unattended not matter what material your burning. Too many accidents happen that way.

Always read manufacturer instructions before using any candle (look at the warning labels on the bottom of the candle, if its not there don’t even buy the candle you don’t know what’s in it)

Candles are purchased primarily for their fragrance and decorative properties. Factors considered when buying a candle is usually the fragrance and color, then cost and shape.

Candles are most often purchased by women, for themselves or as a gift. If a man buys them he is usually in-trouble or is not really interested in the decor of his place but trying to impress a woman.

Two thirds of dedicated candle burners use their candles more than once a week, ( I burn candles 2-3 times a week), women burn them the most, men only when they remember they own one, or want something from you. They are typically burned for three hours or less.

Candles are bought for living rooms, bedrooms, and the kitchen.

Nine out of ten consumers say that candles make a room feel “cozy”, (we like to say Toasty) and comfortable.

Candle buyers usually buy them as gifts, holiday, house-warming, thank you’s, and a great number buy them for themselves to elevate their moods, bring ambiance to any room.

Candles can create a mood for you (relaxing, comforting), decrease tension with their ambiance and fragrance. They can change a mood from negative to positive.

Tea lights are the primary candle purchased, followed by the votive. Probably because of their small size and ability to fit into any candle approved container. (Toasty has tea lights too!)
